Marek Łagosz

The Crisis, Karl Marx and Occam’s Razor

In this paper its author examines the phenomenon of financial crisis from the philosophical point of view, which is broader than the economic one. He primarily refers to the Marxist critique of political economy and its findings on the operation of financial capital. It is proved that the irrational moments of the operation of money capital indicated by Marx underlie the contemporary crisis. In general, the author identifies the source of the crisis in the failure to observe the postulate called the Occam’s razor in the economy: entities must not be multiplied beyond necessity.
